Reiki for your pet
Reiki is a way to bring love, peace, tranquillity, harmony and relief to our pets. It can be used on all species: dogs, cats, horses, birds, rabbits, fish... all can benefit.
All animals are very intuitive and commonly respond positively to Reiki.
In healthy pets it helps them to stay healthy, relax and offers them pleasant moments of peace and contentment.
For pets with health problems, as well as providing relaxation and tranquillity, Reiki supports self-healing.
Reiki is a holistic method that works with energy and uses gentle hand movements to transmit it. It is received on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.
Reiki is a holistic method
- On the physical side: It improves physical ailments and organic problems.
- On the mental side: It helps to reduce habits that are not good for your pet, repetitive behaviours and insomnia.
- On the emotional side: It balances emotions to treat sadness or anxiety.
- On the spiritual side: It provides inner balance, peace and relaxation.
It is important to note that Reiki is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a complementary discipline to medicine, however, it will never replace any veterinary treatment.
Which are the benefits of Reiki for your pet?
- It provides well-being, maintaining your pet's natural state of health and balance.
- It supports the self-healing process after injury, surgery or illness.
- In the case of illness, it can complement other treatments, either to boost them or to reduce their side effects as in chemotherapy.
- It gives quality of life, especially in the last days of our pets. Reiki treatment does not change the course of events, but it helps to go through the dying process in a more harmonious way.
It is important to mention that Reiki is not a substitute for veterinary care. The two of them can complement each other.

Chakras in animals
People, like animals in general share the 7 main chakras.
An eighth chakra is known in our pets. It is called the brachial chakra, which is closely related to the human-animal bond and depending on the case, this chakra can be in harmony or it can be affected (by mistreatment, mistrust). It is located on both sides of the shoulders (scapulae).
There are also the minor chakras, which can be considered as sense centres.
The bud chakras, which allow the pet to connect with the earth and sense the energies of the earth (storms coming, temperature changes, etc.). These are located in the paws and ears.

A Reiki session for your pet
- The important thing is to keep your pet in a familiar and comfortable area. So once an appointment has been made, I will go to the place where your pet lives.
- I will set up a place either near or far away from your pet, depending on how your pet responds, and I will open the Reiki session.
It is possible that on the first day your pet may stay away a bit, leave, or come completely close to enjoying the session (it may fall asleep, relax, yawn, get gassy, shake). Whether or not to lay hands will depend on how your pet reacts. They are in control of the session and we respect that.
- The session lasts between 20 minutes to an hour and this depends on your pet's acceptance and how relaxed it is feeling, when it has been enough for it, it gets up and leaves.
- The pet owner may remain during the session. It is recommended to be quiet either; reading, meditating or just observing. In this case both you and your pet benefit from the Reiki healing area.
The Reiki practice takes place around Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg, Germany: Horben, Günterstal, Wiehre, Altstadt, Stühlinger.
How many Reiki sessions can your pet take?
When your pet start to take Reiki, it is advisable, to take four sessions in a row for four consecutive days to get used to the energy. This is not a rule. It is suggested at least at the beginning to do Reiki once a week for four weeks.
After that, depending on how you see your pet's reaction and performance. How much it enjoys it or how much it improves, it is recommended every 15 days or once a month.
Healing crisis in your pet
During the first Reiki sessions your pet may or may not go through a healing crisis. It is a cleansing process that indicates that your pet's body is unblocking and getting used to the Reiki energy.
Your pet may show symptoms such as: coughing, diarrhoea, small spasms, fatigue and in case of illness may develop more symptoms of its own illness. It is temporary and usually lasts 1 to 3 days.
During this period it is important to continue to treat your pet with care and follow the normal veterinary prescription. Reiki should never replace veterinary care and treatment.
Important clarification
We, the people who practice Reiki, are only a channel of energy. We do not heal. We help your pet in its self-healing process in a holistic and loving way.
For sick animals Reiki is a perfect complement to other treatments. It helps to improve quickly, slowly or even not at all but always gives a better quality of life. A minute of Reiki is always better than no Reiki at all.
Reiki is considered as complementary medicine, therefore, it should never replace the care and treatment of a veterinarian.
Reiki online for you and your pet
Dogs or cats are often together with its owner, so of course joint sessions can also be offered.
We meet via zoom or Google Meet. You will be with your pet, in a comfortable place for both of you, you can even be in a meditation position.
I will play soft music and we will start the session for as long as your pet allows. When your pet is energised it simply leaves. The session lasts around 20 minutes.
